2 fire appliances from Kingston and Modbury were mobilised to a property in Kingston following a call tp a gas BBQ which had caught fire and quickly spread to the exterior facia of the domestic property and heavily smoke logged the first floor of the 2 storey split level home. Crews worked well to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading any further, but remained on scene for some time cooling the gas cylinder with water and allowing it to vent off until it was empty. Crews used 1 hose reel jet, gas monitor,  ladder and small tools. The BBQ was destroyed, there was minor damage to the rear facia and the first floor of the property was heavily smoke logged. Once extinguished and the scene made safe fire safety was given to the occupants and neighbouring properties ref BBQ safety. Luckily there were no casualties.
